Avant la fin (2023)
This was the transition by another way of saying: writing without making images (Miscellanées), that allowed me to get back to photography after a (too) long interruption. In this troubled time (but when isn’t it?), I like others took note of the climate upheavals, the risks of epidemics, and the wars on repeat: in a word, our fragility. In an almost ironic way, I wished to evoke the improbable survival of the species, without ecological surplus: through isolated images arranged to be reinterpreted.
